An online Working Group (WG) meeting with representatives of the Service of State Inspector of Georgia (SIS), a Council of Europe consultant and the Project team took place on 9 April 2020.
The online WG meeting was designed to discuss the methodology of a comprehensive study aimed at describing the best European practices of the Independent Investigative Mechanisms. The CoE consultant introduced the developed draft methodology and further discussed on various issues related to the effective functioning of the SIS. The first draft of the comprehensive study will be ready by the end of May 2020.
This activity was organized within the framework of the CoE Project “Juvenile and Adult Detainees Support” (JADES) which is designed to address the issues related to the rights of detained persons and their treatment; crimes committed by/against juveniles; effective remedies against police misconduct and effective investigation of the alleged ill-treatment.
