The highest Moroccan authorities in charge of justice launched together an international seminar on the management of the means of the prosecution services
The CEPEJ and the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Kingdom of Morocco (an institution recently set up in the framework of the Moroccan judicial reform), jointly organised an international seminar in Rabat on the management of the means of prosecution services on 29 March 2018. Mr M’hammed ABDENABAOUI, President of the Prosecution Services, Mr Mustapha FARES, Deputy President of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (SCJ), and Mr Mohamed AUAJJAR, Minister of Justice were present and made a speech during the opening ceremony of this event which marks the beginning of a cooperation between the CEPEJ and the Presidency of the Prosecution Services, similar to the one existing since 2012 with the Ministry of Justice and since 2017 with the CSPJ. The presentation by international experts of Opinion n°7 of the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors (CCPE) on the "Management of the means of Prosecution services", provided an opportunity for an exchange of knowledge and experience with some 100 Moroccan prosecutors who have participated to the event. Some of the topics addressed during this seminar included a better understanding of the needs of prosecution services and modern management methods, the duties of transparency and public access to information on the actions of the prosecution services and the specific management of the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in charge of supervising the work of prosecution services. This event is part of the programme to support the justice sector reform, “Improving the functioning of justice in Morocco using the tools of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ)", financed by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe.
