In accordance with a request of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova relating to the on-going reorganisation of the national courts, the Vice-President of the CEPEJ, Mr Ramin Gurbanov, visited Chisinau on 12 October 2017. The CEPEJ tools such as the Guidelines on the creation of judicial maps to support access to justice within a quality judicial system as well as the Guidelines on the organisation and accessibility of court premises were presented and discussed. Taking into account the interest of Moldovan authorities in the recent positive experience of Azerbaijan in the establishing a modern court infrastructure, an Azerbaijani delegation conducted detailed presentations on organisation and accessibility of court premises in Azerbaijan, especially related to the planning, building, equipping and functioning of new court premises, and shared with Moldova colleagues information on the related challenges and lessons learned. During the visit, Mr Ramin Gurbanov held bilateral meetings with Mr Vladimir Cebotari, Minister of Justice, Mr Mihai Poalelungi, President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Mr Victor Micu, President of the Superior Council of Magistrates. The delegation also visited the recently enlarged and refurbished building of the Chisinau Court of Appeal. The results of this mission were highly appreciated by the Moldovan counterparts.
