The European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) organized, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of Tunisia, three capacity-building workshops, primarily intended for judges of the pilot courts of Gabes, Kairouan, Nabeul, Sidi Bouzid, Tunis and Zaghouan. The workshops focused on the following topics: civil mediation; alternatives to prosecution; and courts’ communication with the media and the public. A number of journalists also attended the media workshop, where they discussed various communication issues faced by Tunisian and European courts, in particular the question about “how to effectively communicate, including during times of crisis”.
