The second workshop on the development of the Strategic Road Map/Action Plan for mediation services is being held in Antalya on 19-20 July 2017. The aim is to develop the “Five-Year Action Plan” for the Ministry of Justice to ensure the sustainability of the models and practices developed under the Project entitled “Developing Mediation Practices in Civil Disputes in Turkey”, implemented by the Council of Europe and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the Republic of Turkey. The stakeholders of mediation in Turkey, i.e. the Ministry of Justice, the Union of Turkish Bar Associations, pilot judges, mediators and academics worked in three working groups on “Legislation, Training, Court Referred Mediation-Awareness” with the aim of addressing the current needs to foster the development of mediation. The groups are supported by a National Strategy expert and by a CEPEJ expert.
