The CEPEJ experts have met the staff of the Municipal Court of Karlovac (Croatia) to discuss the implementation of the recommendations, which they had made following an in-depth analysis on the functioning of the court conducted during the previous months. While primarily aimed at analysing the timeframes to prevent excessive delays in the processing of cases, the recommendations also covered the system of cases allocation among judges, the introduction of mediation and conciliation in the court, as well as the tasks management of technical experts. This last step towards implementation will be followed by the drafting of a Guidance Manual, which is to be presented to all Municipal Courts in Croatia. These activities fall within the framework of the co-operation programme between the CEPEJ and Croatia, which are funded by the EEA/Norway Grants.
