Back 12th meeting of the Group of Experts on Protected Areas and Ecological Networks

The Group of Experts on Protected Areas and Ecological Networks held its 12th meeting on 5-6 October online.

The Group examined the outcomes of the survey carried out among Contracting Parties on the reporting under Resolution No. 8 (2012) on the conservation status of species and habitats, discussed the outcomes of the consultation of Contracting Parties on the conclusions of the 2020 legal analysis of the Emerald Network and the possible next steps, and was updated on the state of development of the Emerald Network Barometer and the further development of the Emerald Network Webapp and Viewer.

The Group also discussed the Emerald Network data mobilisation in the Western Balkans, progress of the Emerald Network in Belarus and the preparation of the Biogeographical evaluation of the list of sites proposed by Georgia.

Finally, the Group elaborated its Programme of Work for 2022.
