The Bureau to the Standing Committee of the Bern Convention will held its first meeting of 2024 on 18-19 March in Strasbourg.

The Bureau assessed progress in the implementation of the Convention’s Programme of Activities for 2024 and the state of preparation of upcoming meetings and processes, including the ongoing Reykjavik process, financing and strategic development, European Diploma for Protected Areas, Emerald Network, Groups of Expert’s meetings, and the Kresna Technical Workshop.

The Bureau also assessed a number of case-files concerning alleged violations of the Convention, including new complaints received in recent months by the Secretariat.
