World Democracy Forum- Call for initiatives

The 2020 World Forum for Democracy titled “Can Democracy Save the Environment” will be held in Strasbourg on 16-18 November.

Along with the high level plenary sessions and key-note speeches, the Forum will also work through a series of informal, creative labs, enabling a frank and intensive debate. The labs will provide a platform for emerging leaders and grassroots initiatives that foster participation and re-connecting citizens and democratic institutions. Participants from the worlds of politics, academia, civil society, business, media and social networks will critically review these innovative initiatives, assess their impact and their mainstreaming potential, while possibly injecting new ideas as well. The Forum participants and audience will select the most promising initiative, that will receive the Council of Europe recognition award for democratic innovation.

A call for initiatives to be presented in the labs have been launched and applications are accepted until 30 June at E-mail: [email protected] . The application form for this call is attached in English and French and more information can be found at the official website : https://www.coe.int/en/web/world-forum-democracy.
