Within the scope of the European Union – Council of Europe Joint Project “Strengthening Democratic Culture in Basic Education”, the Democratic School Culture Working Group, made up of representatives from the different departments of the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) and education practitioners, analysed the draft Whole School Model developed by the national consultants of the Project.
The Model, which is made up of three different sections for preschools, primary schools (grades 1-4) and middle schools (grades 5-8), provides a theoretical framework for the concept “Democratic School Culture” and a practical guide (Whole School Model) for schools to develop such a culture in their own context.
After its revision according to the feedback received and final approval by the MoNE, the Model will be piloted and assessed in 110 pilot schools of the Project.
