Training of Trainers and Curriculum Revision Workshop (6-8 June 2016, Ankara)
A training of trainers together with a workshop on the revision of training curriculum for mediation was conducted in Ankara/Turkey on 6-8 June 2016. The training hosted 24 trainers and mediators from different training institutions, CoE/CEPEJ experts and training experts of CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution based in the UK). The overall objective of the training programme has been to equip trainers/mediators with teaching skills essential in mediation training. Through the CEDR and CEPEJ expertise, the national trainers had the opportunity to observe and elaborate the common methods and ways to design effective training modules for mediation training.
The Workshop focused on the revision of training curriculum during which the CEPEJ experts worked with each module group to review and re-design each and every module with practical sessions. In each working group, the national trainers prepared the content of the curriculum as well as all required training materials and tools (videos, games, group work, etc.) A national curriculum development expert for adult education and training contributed to the group work and provided feedback on the essentials of adult training and importance of feedback and practical sessions.
These activities were organised in the framework of the Project entitled “Developing Mediation Practices in Civil Disputes in Turkey”.
