Study Visit of the Turkish Justice Academy to the Spanish Judicial School

First study visit of the Joint Project on the Strengthening the Criminal Justice System and the Capacity of Justice Professionals on Prevention of the European Convention on Human Rights Violations in Turkey (CJS) was carried out to the Spanish Judicial School between 11 and 14 November 2019.

The study visit was conducted with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Justice, Mr. Cengiz Öner, Deputy President of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors, Mr. Mehmet Yılmaz, President of the Turkish Justice Academy, Mr. Muhittin Özdemir and other representatives of the Turkish Justice Academy. Participants visited pre-service and in-service Spanish training schools, both in Barcelona and Madrid.

During the visit, representatives from the Spanish School shared information and exchanged with the Turkish delegation on: the structure of the school, its training curriculum, the selection of trainers, the resource materials, the methodology and evaluation of trainings.

The study visit will contribute to efforts of the Turkish Justice Academy on re-structuring its training programme.
