The 3rd meeting of the Working Group for the drafting of a code of judicial ethics for Turkish judges and prosecutors was held in Kızılcahamam, Turkey on 24-26 January 2017 within the framework of the Project “Strengthening Judicial Ethics in Turkey”.
In addition to the participating judges, prosecutors, inspectors and lawyer, three international experts and three national experts also contributed to the meeting. The participants discussed judges’ and prosecutors’ relations with the media and the issue of forming and joining associations, and they continued to draft general provisions of judicial ethics as well as specific provisions for the professions of judges, prosecutors and inspectors in three subgroups.
The Working Group will have its 4th meeting on 15-17 February 2017 to continue the drafting process.
