Work Experience:

1985-cont. - University of Tirana, Faculty of Law: lecturer in Criminalistics (1985-1995); lecturer in Criminology and Penology and Criminal Policy at Tirana University (1995-on going) Professor of Criminology at the Magistrate School of Albania; Head of the Department of Penal Law (1992-1997); Dean of the Law Faculty, University of Tirana (1998-2000).

Associate Professor in law, Professor of Criminology and Penology, Crime Policy, Faculty of Law, University of Tirana (since 1985) Executive Director of the Albanian Helsinki Committee (2000-?).

Membership:

Member of the European Society of Criminology (2003-cont); the Albanian Legal Women Society (1997-2001); the World Association of Victimology (1997-2000); the International Association of Juvenile and Family Court Magistrates (1994-2000, 2007-cont).

Trainer for judges, prosecutors, police and lawyers in the fields of the juvenile justice system, domestic violence and articles of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Several articles in the fields of criminology, penology, victimology, crime policy, organised crime; human rights, minorities, women’s rights; textbooks for law students: “Criminology”, “Penology”, “Criminal Policy”, “Human rights and the police”; co- author of a textbook on legal education for the elementary and high school; co-author of reports and books on organized crime, victimology, human rights; the European sourcebook on crime and the criminal justice system published at international level.
