The “Justizpalast” is the home of the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal Vienna and the Regional Court for Civil Matters Vienna (biggest one in Austria) as well as of the General Attorney and the Senior Public Prosecution Office Vienna. It’s historical building has been newly renovated and reopened.

Afternoon of October 26 (in the frame of the Austrian National Day, which is a public holiday):

Aims :

To get people in touch with the judiciary, having a look at some of the most famous court-rooms in Austria and being guided through the building by judges to be introduced in their daily work also.

Publicity envisaged:

Announcement of the activity in local newspapers and posters.

Activity(ies) envisaged :

The Civil Court of Linz in collaboration with the District Court of Linz is organising an Open Day for students at vocational training colleges in the Linz area to commemorate the European Day of Civil Justice

Aims :

Students will have an opportunity to get to know the Service§center at the Civil and District Court of Linz, the Register of Companies, the Land Register, the Edict File, and to visit and take part in role playing of sample civil hearings held by future legal staff (future magistrates).
