In the context of the German EU Presidency, the Federal Ministry of Justice and the Ministries of justice of the Lšnder organised a conference "Work on E-justice" in Bremen from 29 to 31 May.
The justice portal as link between different legal systems, cross-border IT-communication among parties, exchange of information between national judicial registers and procedural models for standardisation at the European level were the main subjects of this conference.
As it was the case for the last conference on this subject (Vienna, 31 May – 2 June 2006), the Council of Europe and the CEPEJ were associated to this event. The development of technologies of information is, indeed, a major element for a better functioning of the judicial systems for the users in the 47 Member States of the Council of Europe.
Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe and Brigitte Zypries, Minister of Justice of Germany, took part in the opening of the conference.
