 The
Foundation “Justice in the World”, created under the
patronage of the International Association of Judges,
decided to honour the Consultative Council of European
Judges (CCJE) with its prize in 2009 for its action
in favour of judges in Europe. Ms Julia Laffranque
(Estonia), President of the CCJE, and Mr Philippe Boillat,
Director General of Human Rights and Legal Affairs of
the Council of Europe, were awarded the Prize at a
ceremony which took place in Madrid on 3 November 2009.
