In 2006, the Consultative Council of European Judges adopted
opinion
n°8 on "the role of judges in the protection of the rule of law
and human rights in the context of terrorism" and
opinion n°9
"the role of national judges in ensuring an effective application of
international and European law".
Those work were carried out on the basis of the replies by delegations
to a
questionnaire sur
“the role of judges in striking
a balance between protecting the public interest and human rights in the
context of terrorism”.
