Global Education News is an electronic newsletter where national global education coordinators or practitioners can share global education news and best practices, useful thematic links and educational materials. It also serves as a medium for the North-South Centre global education network national coordinators' own use.

    November has been an intense month at the North-South Centre. You will find in this issue information on the Global Education Week 2007 edition. On the GE level we invite you to get acquainted also with the report of the NSC-YFJ GE & Youth seminar held in Mollina last October as well as the Development Education European strategy framework, an initiative of European institutions, among which the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, together with governmental, intergovernmental and civil society organisations.
    December is opening with the Africa-Europe Youth Summit and the Bali conference on Climate change, two decisive meetings for a sustainable future. Useful links and resources, under §3 & §4, are focusing on this issue, as well as a wide range of articles under § 7. Enjoy the reading!

    . United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
    United Nations Climate Change Conference - Bali, 3 - 14 December 2007
    The Conference, hosted by the Government of Indonesia, brings together representatives of over 180 countries together with observers from intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations, and the media. The two week period includes the sessions of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC, its subsidiary bodies as well as the Meeting of the Parties of the Kyoto Protocol. A ministerial segment in the second week will conclude the Conference.

    . World AIDS Day 2007: HIV-positive teachers lead the way
    UNESCO is supporting the launch of a network of HIV-positive teachers in Namibia on World AIDS Day, 1 December, increasing the number of similar networks in countries in East and Southern Africa.
