2. BRIEF SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Euro – Asia Promotion and Cultural Foundation (EAPCF) and European Literature Circle (ELC)
are able to promote a New and Exciting Project called the “Euro – Asia Silk Highway” – a
reference to the Great Silk Road which used to link Europe to the Far East, promoting the
exchange of both good and of knowledge and ideas between the Europe and Asia and not
only.

3. WHAT IS THE NORTH-SOUTH/ GLOBAL DIMENSION OF YOUR PROJECT? Please describe

This virtual Silk Highway will conect Europe and Asia through a virtual Bridge Highway,
dedicated to Understanding and Peace, Scientific, Cultural and Creative Education cooperation.

5. PLEASE OUTLINE BRIEFLY THE FOLLOWING ELEMENTS
OF THE PROJECT¹:

a) overall aims

The Programme intends to encourage organisations active in this fields to establish contacts amongs themeselves and to discover this new way contacting each other. Projects covering the present feature should therefore aim at setting the basis for, or encouraging the development of, long-lasting networking between organisations of this particular field of Action. The Networking could lead to concrete cooperation of different partners on joint projects foccusing on transnational economic, cultural, science and educational collaboration. The cooperation would strengthen the Euro - Asian dimension of the organisation involved and would enrich the transnational debate, opening new approaches.

b) specific objectives

Every country could be our partner and ELC could be itinerant. The direct beneficiares of this project are participating organisations and their stakeholders including recipient of their services. The representatives included those who work strategically and also at delivery level with young people, NGOs(creative and learning institutions) and industries(large corporations, small and medium entreprises).

c) outcomes

Development Education is an active learning process which enables people to understand the links between their own lives and those of people throughout the world, in a changing global society that is multicultural and interdependent
Development education aims to:
> Enable people to understand links between their own lives and those people throughout the world;
> Develop skills, attitudes and values which enable people to work together to bring about change and take control of their own lives;
> Increase understanding of the economic,social, political and environmental forces which shape our lives;
> Work towards achivieng a more just and sustainable world in which power and resources are more equitably shared

Euro - Asia Silk Highway Olympiad
 
 
1)The contest is open to all the European and Asian countries, to competitors from other continents as well, provided they accept the present regulations and take an active part in organizing it;
2) The starting point is the theme: “ The European Literary Circle on Silk Road”- Rediscovering the old Silk Road through  Education, Science and Culture, in an international project meant to materialize the modern silk highway. To put the concept into practice, we will start from the initiative of the Magic Pencil (http://ponteuxin.tripod.com), able to create the    creative instruments necessary to this construction , and from the latest technologies developed on the Internet, including promoting the site – http://www.silkhighway.eu- which is being created;
3)The first project initiated will belong to education and science, the goal of the organizers being that of developing the education on this old but always new itinerary. In cooperation with the Romanian Mathematical Society   and other partners and sponsors, we will start a competition for traveling the Silk Highway with the use of Mathematics, this is why we launch the present regulation

The direct beneficiares of the project are participating organisations and their stakeholders including recipient of their servicies. The direct beneficiares will become strong advocates for the project.

7. WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT LEARNING DIMENSION OF THE PROJECT THAT COULD BE USEFUL IN OTHER COUNTRIES?

- Opportunity to build project partnership with key stakeholders from the private and voluntay sector to address a range of issues to increase life long learning and cultural opportunities for all youg people in Europe and Asia;
- Creation of a lobbing, advocacy and consultative body to inform and influence European policy and implementation locally, nationally and in a European context so that they benefit all young peolple across Europe and Asia;
- Mainstream cultural diversity and education creativity across Europe and Asia,etc.
