Le Bulletin de l’Education à la citoyenneté mondiale est une lettre d’information électronique qui permet aux coordinateurs nationaux et aux praticiens de l’éducation à la citoyenneté mondiale (ECM) d’échanger des informations et des bonnes pratiques, des liens intéressants et du matériel pédagogique. Il sert également de support de communication aux coordinateurs nationaux du réseau de l’éducation à la citoyenneté mondiale du Centre Nord-Sud.

    Nous espérons que l’interruption estivale fut bénéfique et joyeuse pour tous.

    C'est un plaisir de partager avec vous ce message pour célébrer la Rentrée et donner au CNS une excellente occasion de passer en revue le travail accompli jusqu'ici dans le domaine de l'éducation à la citoyenneté mondiale (ECM).

    La première moitié de 2010 a été intense en termes d'engagement du CNS pour l'éducation à la citoyenneté mondiale (ECM) : le Global Education Guidelines a été traduit en français (Guide Pratique pour l’Éducation à la Citoyenneté Mondiale), en Portugais et en Espagnol et la formation en-ligne ECM a été offerte au Printemps dernier, confirmant ainsi la nouvelle dynamique du CNS dans le domaine du renforcement des capacités et de la formation.

    Le premier semestre a été également une étape importante dans le domaine du travail en réseau du CNS avec sa participation au Congrès international de Rosario, Argentine (Défis pour la démocratie participative et la citoyenneté au 21ème siècle) permettant établir des contacts avec les parties prenantes latino-américaines et explorer des pistes de collaboration, l'une d'entre elle pouvant être la traduction de la formation en-ligne ECM en portugais et en espagnol.

    Dans le domaine du travail en réseau et des partenariats, le CNS prépare sa participation aux Journées européenes du développement en collaboration étroite avec DEEEP et le réseau DARE de CONCORD en vue de renforcer les synergies entre les réseaux DARE et Semaine de l’ECM au profit d'une approche européenne pour l’éducation au développement (ED) et l’éducation à la citoyenneté mondiale (ECM).

    Enfin, le projet pour le renforcement de l’ECM dans les nouveaux Etats membres de l'UE est en phase de conclusion en ce qui concerne les conférences nationales ED/ECM. Des conférences régionales complèteront ce cycle dans les mois à venir.

    Toutes ces activités attestent la participation croissante des parties prenantes dans le domaine de l’ECM et nous vous invitons à découvrir dans le détail les activités du CNS à travers la page Web du programme ECM, régulièrement mise à jour.

    La formation en-ligne ECM, le Prix Conscience du Monde et la Semaine de l’Éducation à la Citoyenneté Mondiale, activités auxquelles nous vous invitons à participer activement.

    Prenez note des délais d’inscription, 15 Septembre pour la formation en-ligne ; 13 Octobre pour le Prix Conscience du Monde. Quant à la Semaine de l’ECM, du 13 au 21 novembre, vous pouvez déjà penser à des idées d’activités à partir des informations disponibles sur le site.

    There has been considerable progress towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals. Despite the global economic crisis, the target to reduce by half the number of people living in extreme poverty is within reach. Rapid growth has occurred in East Asia and Pacific and poverty rates have been dropping in South Asia.     The third Millennium Development Goal aims at promoting gender equality and empowering women. Developing countries continue to make progress towards this goal, especially gender parity in primary and secondary education. Sixty-four countries have achieved gender parity in enrollment, and another twenty are on track to do so by 2015. But 22 countries are seriously off track, the majority of them in sub-Saharan Africa.     . Growth or Redistribution for Human Development? Neither?
    The authors of this study asked whether economic growth or pro-poor income redistribution influenced aggregate health and education attainments. The paper examines data for Morocco and Vietnam, and finds that growth and changes in income inequality played only a modest role in boosting school enrollments in both countries.     The World Bank is the largest provider of development assistance to Africa. In the last five years, the Bank and its partners have increased their commitments to Africa to fight poverty, boost economic growth and lessen the impact of the economic, food and fuel crises. 66 million Africans have received new electricity since 1997, and 240,000 kilometers of African roads have been built, rehabilitated or maintained in the last 8 years.
