Technical Co-operation and Consultancy Programme related to the integrated conservation of the cultural and natural heritage
Fact-finding mission in the Republic of Moldova
In the framework of the Technical Co-operation and Consultancy Programme related to the integrated conservation of the cultural and natural heritage and at the request of the authorities, a fact-finding mission will take place on 5-7 June 2012 in the Republic of Moldova.
The experts appointed by the Council of Europe are: Mrs Françoise Duperroy, Director of Heritage Protection - Walloon Public Service (Belgium), Mr François Goven, General Inspector of Historic Monuments - Directorate General of Heritage - Ministry of Culture and Communication (France) and Mr Mircea Angelescu, Director of National Heritage - Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (Romania).
The experts will assess the heritage policy of the Republic of Moldova and make recommendations to strengthen the policy and implement a national strategy for heritage development.
The Technical Co-operation and Consultancy Programme related to the integrated conservation of the cultural heritage is run by the Cultural Heritage and Technical Assistance Division (Directorate of Democratic Governance, Culture and Diversity, under the auspices of the Directorate General of Democracy). The Programme, which was set up in 1977, is the most significant contribution to the Council of Europe’s work in the field of heritage. The implementation of pilot projects demonstrates on the ground the Council of Europe’s values and complements the activities and ethical standards of the Organisation which plays a crucial role in the development of European thinking.
