|1204th meeting of the Ministers' Deputies (2-3 July 2014)|
[04/07/2014] At their 1204th meeting, the Ministers' Deputies held a thematic debate on the report of the Secretary General on the "State of democracy, human rights and the rule of law in Europe".
They approved electoral assistance activities in view of the forthcoming general elections to be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 12 October 2014 and the parliamentary elections to be held in the Republic of Moldova on 30 November 2014.
The Deputies had an exchange of views with Ms Anne Brasseur, President of the Parliamentary Assembly, following the 3rd part of the PACE 2014 Session in June. They also had an exchange of views with Mr Dean Spielmann, President of the European Court of Human Rights.
The Deputies adopted several Resolutions in the context of the European Social Charter collective complaints procedure, concerning pension benefits in Greece, as well as a Resolution on the implementation of the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities by Malta.
Concerning the Council of Europe Strategy for the Rights of the Child, the Deputies agreed to extend the ONE in FIVE Campaign for an additional year, until the end of 2015.
Finally, the Deputies awarded the European Diploma of Protected Areas to the Desertas Nature Reserve in Portugal.
