In the framework of ongoing
judicial training in Serbia, the Judicial Academy of
Serbia and the non-governmental organisation The AIRE
Centre in London, which is specialised in ECHR and EU
law, are organising two events in Belgrade to co-incide
with the European Day of Civil Justice on 25th of
October. On Thursday 25th participants from the Serbian
Supreme Cassation Court and Appellate Courts will be
attending a seminar to discuss issues arising from the
European Court of Human Rights's case law on Article 6
of the ECHR, in particular the importance of legal
certainty and the problem of lengthy proceedings. On 26
and 27 October, senior judges and prosecutors who are
part of the Judicial Academy's expert trainers group
will continue to discuss these issues, as well as the
right to protection of property - this group will be in
charge of training other judges and prosecutors
throughout Serbia on the European Convention on Human
Rights. |
