Back 1264th meeting of the Ministers' Deputies (14 September 2016)

At their meeting on 14 September, the Minister’s Deputies:

  • held exchanges of views with:
    • Mr Miroslav Lajčák, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic following his presentation of the priorities of the Slovak Presidency of the European Union;
    • Mr Nils Muiznieks, the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, following the presentation of his 2nd quarterly activity report 2016; and
    • Mr Wojciech Kutyła, Vice-President of Najwyższa Izba Kontroli (NIK), following his presentation of the results of the activities of the Polish Supreme Audit Office as the external auditor of the Council of Europe;
  • endorsed priorities for co-operation with Palestine*;
  • adopted a resolution on the implementation of the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities by San Marino.

The Secretary General, Mr Thorbjørn Jagland, presented an assessment report on the Platform to Promote the Protection of Journalism and the Safety of Journalists.

Ambassador Tomáš Boček, the Special Representative of the Secretary General on migration and refugees, also presented the report of his fact-finding mission to Turkey on 30 May to 4 June 2016.
