The Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Operation of European Conventions on Co-operation in Criminal Matters (PC-OC / Terms of reference / List of Conventions) is the forum in which, since 1981, experts from all member and observer states and organisations come together to elaborate ways to improve international co-operation in criminal matters and identify solutions to practical problems encountered in the application of Council of Europe Conventions in this field. Special session of the PC-OC (Strasbourg, 20 June 2018)

The Committee of Experts on the Operation of European Conventions in Criminal Matters (PC-OC) held its 74th plenary meeting in Strasbourg on 19-21 June. The highlight of this meeting was a special session organised to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the European Convention on Extradition. The session was devoted to the development of the case law of the European Court of Human Rights related to extradition as well as to diplomatic assurances in extradition proceedings. PC-OC decided to dedicate the session to the memory of its former member and Chair Mr Eugenio Selvaggi (Italy). On this occasion, a ceremony was held whereby the Deputy Secretary General, Ms Gabriela Battaini, awarded the Council of Europe Pro Merito Medal posthumously to Mr Eugenio Selvaggi .
