45 English teachers from the Ministry of National Education strengthened their skills in language assessment through an online rater training.
The training focused on the key responsibilities of raters assessing writing and speaking. Participants learned the key principles and procedures needed to ensure reliable and consistent assessment.
Council of Europe consultants delivered the training in two parallel sessions, helping participants strengthen their skills in assessing writing and speaking in line with international standards. Participants who completed the training received certificates co-signed by the Ministry of National Education and the Council of Europe.
Following the training, the raters will take part in a rating camp to assess responses from the try-out study conducted in December 2025. This will help improve the quality and reliability of language assessment, while supporting the professional development of teachers involved in testing practices.
This activity is part of the Joint Project on Enhancing Foreign Language Education Quality in Türkiye, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe in close co-operation with the Ministry of National Education.
