The European Union and the Council of Europe, in cooperation with Ministry of Justice and Reform of the Construction sector and partner institutions, held the closing Conference of the EU–CoE Joint Project “EU-CoE Joint Project “Attorney General and State Advocate in Malta - Implementation of action plan of offices re-organisation””.
The event marked the successful conclusion of the project, which has supported the strengthening of the State Advocate and Attorney General Offices following their institutional separation in 2019. Over the past two years, the project has delivered concrete results in enhancing the operational independence, efficiency, and effectiveness of both Offices.
Key achievements include the design of programmes of continuous training and professional development of staff, new working methodologies, tools and policies to improve internal operations, ethics, performance measurement and communication. These efforts have contributed to reinforcing transparency, accountability, and the quality of justice services provided to citizens and are expected to contribute to the improved public trust.
The closing event brought together national stakeholders and international partners to showcase the produced deliverables and reflect on the progress achieved.
The commitment to improving the efficiency of both institutions and the overall justice system in Malta remains strong as the project concludes and its achievements pave the way for future initiatives.
The Project is co-funded by the European Union via the Technical Support Instrument, and implemented by the Council of Europe, in cooperation with the European Commission.
