Lithuania: Strengthening Civil Participation in Decision-Making

The Centre of Expertise for Good Governance will deliver an online training on “Civil participation in local decision-making” in Lithuania. The training will bring together international and national experts to present and promote the implementation of the Council of Europe Toolkit on Civil Participation in Decision-Making. The toolkit aims to provide an integrated framework that guides local authorities and practitioners, through a step-by-step approach in the design and implementation of context-based strategies to boost civil participation. The participants will engage in practical exercises and active discussions and will work on the adaptation of the toolkit. The training will be followed by a series of workshops to build capacities of local authorities for a meaningful civil participation in the context of good governance, inter-municipal cooperation, regional development, strategic planning, and other specific areas.

The training is organised in the framework of the Joint Project of the Council of Europe and the European Union on Delivering Good Governance in Lithuania, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the training centre Dainava.
