LEMON courses on social media, democracy and human rights available in Albanian

Four Council of Europe online courses on “The Key to Understanding Social Media, Democracy and Human Rights: A Guide For Educators”, “The Key to Teaching Democratic Competences for Social Media”, “The Key to Using Social Media as an Educational Tool for Democracy “ and “Intercultural School Development” are now available in the Albanian language and accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Training Modules and Programmes at the Ministry of Education and Sport until 2026.

These courses are part of the Council of Europe Education Department’s LEMON online learning platform dedicated to teachers’ professional development and offer guidance, inter alia, on the use of social media as an educational tool for democracy and human rights and how to develop practical Action Plans that would revolutionize educational institutions into more inclusive, participative and democratic places.

The interactive courses will be used to enhance the capacities of the Albanian teachers of citizenship education and human sciences at the national level in addition to 400 teachers from 75 pilot schools engaged with the Council of Europe project “Strengthening Democratic Citizenship Education in Albania”.

LEMON courses are an integrated part of capacity building activities organized by the project aiming to help teachers to develop new professional practices and attitudes that contribute to the development of competences for democratic culture.

The project “Strengthening Democratic Citizenship Education in Albania” is implemented by the Council of Europe and financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.
