From 25 June to 6 July, training sessions were organised with the Development Teams established in 25 primary and secondary pilot schools in Albania to strengthen their democratic school culture and governance. The trainings reached about 300 participants, including teachers, parents, students and school directors and focused on Inclusive School Culture, Policies and Practices based on the Index for Inclusion with the view to identify the priorities and design the respective Annual Action Plans and School Development Plans.

The trainings employed various participatory methods, including group work, role plays, energisers, presentations, and free discussions, which ensured active and meaningful participation.

They will be followed by a School Self-Assessment based on the Inclusion Index with special focus on the “Culture” component and identification of school priorities for the academic year 2021-2022.

This activity took place within the project “Strengthening Democratic Citizenship Education in Albania” implemented by the Council of Europe and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency - Sida.
