Best practices against bullying acquired within the joint European Union and Council of Europe action “Fighting bullying and extremism in the education system in Albania” will be extended in all the schools of Albania, thanks to the cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth and Ministry of Finance and Economy. Under a joint Instruction of both Ministers for school year 2019-2020, every school in the country will set up an anti-bullying team, which will work in developing school action plans and policies against bullying, based on Council of Europe guidelines developed and published within this Action.

The establishment and functioning of the teams against bullying in the education system in Albania, will further contribute to the sustainability of the action results, as the project activities will now be upscaled at the National level.

Throughout its three-years of project implementation, the action provided continued support to the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth through the capacity building of educational professionals and all actors involved in the field of children’s rights and protection, and the improvement of curricula and teaching methodologies based on Council of Europe good practices.

“Fighting bullying and extremism in the education system in Albania” was a 36-months action that ended on May 2019. The Action, implemented by the Council of Europe under the Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey, was co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe with a fund of 670 000 Euros.
