Discovering class for disabled children

[January 2010] A teacher from the Robert Schuman School in Brumath (France) organised a discovery class during one week in Neuwiller-lès-Saverne (France) for children in a CLIS class.

A CLIS (classe pour l'inclusion scolaire) is a class hosting disabled children, recognised by the Maison de l'autonomie. The discovery week was held in the framework of a sustainable development and environment project. Skills encouraging the children's autonomy were also taught during the visit.

Games and furniture for a toy-lending library in Colombia

[January 2010] The Entraide-Solidarity association has helped a project of the C.I.E.L.O. association for building and setting-up a toy-lending library dedicated to a Colombian population displaced by armed conflict.

This project is based on games as a means to prevent social and psychological problems, introducing informal education to very young children and as an integral development for children and their families in disadvantaged urban settings. The toy-lending library facilitates the children's autonomy in a free space where they can come and play, play alone or together, choose games according to the time they have, which prepares them for participating in society.

For this project, the Entraide-Solidarity association has contributed €400.

Emergency host center for abused women and children in Bolivia

[February 2010] In Bolivia, violence within the family is omnipresent, particularly towards children and women (83% of children and 70% of women are victims of violence).

When dealing with extreme poverty, violence towards children and women is the first obstacle to development. In the light of this, the association Voix Libres asked our association to help with the construction of a shelter for women and children on the shores of the lake Titicaca.

The aim of this shelter is not only to protect women and children, but also to promote their economical autonomy and reintegration into society, to promote their human rights and to facilitate women empowerment. This centre will offer an adapted framework with, among other, services for education and training assistance, and will grant micro credits, productive workshops within their micro-companies, as well as a family planning, a nursery, etc.

The Entraide-Solidarity association supported this project and granted the sum of €3180 for the payment of nursery furniture and bakery material.
