On the 6 October 2020, the Council of Europe/European Union Horizontal Facility II Action against Economic Crime in North Macedonia organised an online meeting during which representatives from the Financial Intelligence Office, the Ministry of Justice, University Professors, practitioners and international organisations’ representatives together with the Council of Europe’s consultant discussed the amendment of the Criminal Code and its compliance with international standards.

Based on the discussions and preliminary review, the CoE consultant will provide an analysis and recommendations on a number of issues on the financing of terrorism.

The Council of Europe/European Union Horizontal Facility II Action against Economic Crime in North Macedonia will support the review and update of the money laundering and the financing of terrorism offence as part of the national working group for drafting the new Criminal Code.
