Lise Christoffersen (Norway, SOC) and Valeriu Ghiletchi (Republic of Moldova, EPP/CD), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for post-monitoring dialogue with “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”, are to make a fact-finding visit to Skopje from 18-20 June 2018.
They are expected to meet the Prime Minister, the President of the Constitutional Court, members of the government, the leaders of political parties and the Special Prosecutor, as well as representatives of judges, NGOs, the media and the diplomatic community.
Discussions will focus in particular on recent developments since the rapporteurs’ last visit in May 2017, with a special focus on the judiciary, as well as the general state of progress as regards fulfilling Council of Europe commitments and obligations.
The co-rapporteurs will give a press conference at the end of their visit, at 10.30am on 20 June (Daily Room of the Holiday Inn Hotel, Filip Vtori Makedonski 5, Skopje).
