Kotor Declaration proposes youth strategies to combat racist and xenophobic acts through computer systems

A joint declaration from participants in the 2024 North-South Intercultural conference has been published, as the result of the discussions and exchanges that took place under the theme “Digital resilience: youth strategies against racist and xenophobic acts through computer systems”.

The Kotor declaration, named after the Montenegrin town that hosted the event, compiles a series of recommendations on how to better engage young people to combat racism and xenophobia in the digital space from experts and representatives from law enforcement, relevant ministries youth organisations, and other stakeholders active in field, coming from 30 countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The 2024 Intercultural conference was organised in partnership with the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, and with support of CyberSouth+ project, a joint initiative of the European Union and the Council of Europe.
