Intercultural Integration Academy in Morocco

An Intercultural Integration Academy will be organised in Marrakech, Morocco on 18-19 February 2020.

The Intercultural Integration Academy will bring together participants from ministries, cities and NGOs from Morocco, Tunisia, Palestine* and Jordan to focus on interculturalism in policymaking and city strategies, introducing the anti-rumours methodology and the function of the intercultural cities’ national networks.

The Academy will raise awareness on the positive effects of the intercultural policy model, paired with an exchange of good practices from the participating cities and the national networks of Intercultural Cities. The Intercultural Integration Academy will also highlight the benefits of membership in the Intercultural Cities Network.

The Intercultural Cities is a Council of Europe programme supporting local authorities to design and implement inclusive integration policies. The programme is based on the Intercultural integration policy model which focuses on enabling communities, organisations and businesses to manage the diversity of people in a way which ensures the equal value of all identities, cohesion and competitive advantage. The programme now supports 139 cities globally.

The Intercultural Integration Academy is organised within the framework of the European Union/Council of Europe joint programme “Ensuring sustainable democratic governance and human rights in the Southern Mediterranean (South Programme III)”, co-funded by both Organisations and implemented by the latter.
