In December 2024, the Programming Committee on Youth approved one more project under the EYF special call in support of young people from Ukraine.
The project "Special call Ukraine - United in action" is about the professional empowerment and social integration of Ukrainian youth workers displaced to Germany due to the war. The objectives are to enhance participants' skills in youth work, foster creativity and leadership through project development, and establish a professional network to support their inclusion. The main activity is a 3 day training course followed by a participant -led projects with mentorship, and a closing event to showcase outcomes. The target group comprises 15 Ukrainian youth workers aged 15-30 residing in Germany, who face barriers to professional practice such as credential recognition delays.
To date, 47 projects have been awarded of €€702 893 involving 3 618 people.
The special call to support young people from Ukraine was launched in 2022 following the decision of the Council of Europe’s Joint Council of Youth. This initiative responds to the current needs expressed by the Ukrainian authorities and stakeholders in the field of youth.
