The third meeting on non-accepted provisions of the European Social Charter by Romania took place in Bucharest on 7 November 2019. The meeting was opened by Liana-Ramona Mostenescu-Vasiliu, General Director for European Affairs and International Relations of the Ministry of Labour and Social Justice and Francois Vandamme, Vice-President of the European Committee of Social Rights. The aim of the meeting was to assess the state of play of the legislation and practice vis-a-vis the provisions of the Charter not yet accepted by Romania and to discuss the possibility of the acceptance of those provisions.
It was noted that some of the provisions not yet accepted by Romania, could be immediately accepted, as the legislation and practice are in line with the requirements of the Charter.
The meeting was organised by the CoE Department of the European Social Charter and the Ministry of Labour and social justice of Romania.
