The European Committee of Social Rights holds its 353rd Session in Strasbourg

The European Committee of Social Rights (ECSR) is holding its 353rd session in Strasbourg from 19 to 22 January 2026.

On the 19th of January, the ECSR members will attend an information meeting for Permanent Representations in Room 11, Palais de l’Europe. This event aims to inform and engage Permanent Representations and certain other stakeholders on recent developments in the work of the European Committee of Social Rights (ECSR), on the ongoing implementation of the reforms adopted by the Committee of Ministers in 2022–2023 concerning the Charter system and on the preparations and expectations for the Chisinau High-Level Conference (March 2026)

During the plenary meeting, the ECSR will continue to deliberate on a number of pending collective complaints. It will examine the draft report on the non-accepted provisions of the Charter in respect of Georgia and will hold a preliminary discussion on the targeted questions to be addressed to States Parties for the reports to be submitted by 31 December 2026 on the Charter provisions belonging to Group 2 in view of Conclusions 2027.

The ECSR will also pursue its discussion about the upcoming High-Level Conference, which will take place in Chisinau on 18 and 19 March 2026, and in particular about its contribution to encouraging more commitments by States Parties and to shaping the substantive content of it.
