Moot Court Competition on the European Social Charter-Third edition

During the academic year 2023-2024, and at the initiative of its French section, the Academic Network on the European Social Charter and Social Rights (ANESC) is organising the third edition of a “Moot Court” related to the European Social Charter. This bilingual (French-English) competition is based on a fictitious collective complaint and includes a written phase and an oral phase (a simulated « hearing » before the European Committee of Social Rights).

The written phase of the competition is now over. The written submissions from the participating teams are evaluated by the Scientific Committee of the competition.

The oral phase will take place on 26 March 2024, at the University Jean Moulin Lyon 3. The "hearings" will take place before the European Committee of Social Rights represented by the jury composed as follows: Bige AÇIMUZ - member of ANESC (Türkiye), Margarita GALSTYAN – Department of Social Rights (Council of Europe), Karolina KIRINCIC-ANDRITSOU – Department of Social Rights (Council of Europe), Cristina SÂMBOAN – General Coordinator of the ANESC (Romania), George THEODOSIS – member of the European Committee of Social Rights (Greece), François VANDAMME – former member of the European Committee of Social Rights (Belgium),Marcin WUJCZYK – former member of the European Committee of Social Rights (Poland).

The pleadings will not be broadcast live (teams not pleading are not allowed to attend the pleadings of others).

You can find a detailed description of the competition at the following address: Moot Court 2024 | RACSE-ANESC . The results of the competition will be made public after the competition.
