On 26 July 2021, the Council of Europe electoral assistance project, in co-operation with the Central Electoral Commission of the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauzia, and the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training, launched the development of training materials and organisation of trainings to electoral management bodies (EMBs) for elections of People’s Assembly of Gagauzia scheduled for 19 September 2021.
Through these trainings, the members of three district electoral councils and sixty-six precinct electoral bureaus, will be prepared to fulfil their responsibilities and deal in professional manner with the organisation and conduct of the elections. Hand-outs will be produced to provide members of EMBs with responses related to properly fulfil the responsibilities within electoral period. About 130,000 voters are expected to cast their ballots in ATU Gagauzia, Republic of Moldova, on 19 September 2021.
