The Division of Electoral Assistance and census monitored the work of NGOs in charge of domestic observation (CVU and OPORA) in view of parliamentary elections in Ukraine on 26 October 2014. On 25 October 2014 Mr François Friederich, Head of Division of Electoral Assistance and Census at the Council of Europe attended a conference at the International Media Centre aimed at supporting transparent parliamentary elections in Ukraine by providing prompt, impartial, professional and accurate information to citizens of Ukraine, Ukrainian and foreign media, and international election observers. For these elections, the Council of Europe assisted Committee of Voters of Ukraine with the review of the system of electoral disputes by elaborating a simplified form for filing complaints and informing voters about their rights.
