Final version of an electronic Registre of trained and certified experts in the electoral field (Registre) was presented on 6 October 2020. The online event brought together representatives of the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova, the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training (Training Centre), a representative and a team of Council of Europe consultants who developed the Registre.

The innovative soft will enable the Training Centre to collect and process information about specific needs of different categories of trainees, segregate gender and age data, know availability of trainers who possess specific knowledge and crafts, generate certificates for those who completed successfully the relevant electoral course.

Experts adjusted the functionalities and capabilities of the new electronic tool afterwards a meeting on 8 September and a testing the Register by the Training Centre in September – beginning of October 2020. Previously training records keeping, and certifying were for the most part being processed manually by the Training Centre using Excel files, being very time consuming.

At the same time, a few issues are still to be tackled, namely, the possibility to restore deleted information, as well as to produce a manual guiding the Register administrator appointed by the Training Centre in using the Register.

In addition, Dr Doina Bordeianu, Head of the Training Centre requested to ensure an interconnection to great extent of the Register and an E-learning platform, the latter is also being tested by the Council of Europe experts and representatives of the Training Centre.

The Register is already being piloted for trainings of the members of the electoral management bodies and other electoral stakeholders within ongoing 1 November 2020 Presidential campaign in the Republic of Moldova.
