On 25 March 2021 Switzerland ratified the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism (CETS No. 196) and its Additional Protocol to (CETS No. 217). The Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism and its Additional Protocol will enter into force concerning Switzerland on  1 July 2021. This brings the number of ratifications/accessions to the Convention up to 42 and the number of ratifications/accessions to the Additional Protocol up to 23.
