Back Meeting of the Ministers’ Deputies on 16 September 2020

At their 1382nd meeting, on 16 September, the Ministers’ Deputies held an exchange of views on the Secretary General’s report “Multilateralism 2020”.

They took note of a report on the implementation of Committee of Ministers’ Recommendation CM/Rec(2010)5 on measures to combat discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation or gender identity and encouraged member States to continue their efforts to implement the provisions of the recommendation, and the organisation, upon request, of assistance and capacity building activities to facilitate this implementation.

Having taken note of the abridged report of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI)’s 82nd meeting, the Deputies encouraged member States to deliver clear messages of zero tolerance to and effective action against racism and discrimination, and to take into account ongoing mobilisation against racism, as highlighted in ECRI’s statement on racist police abuse, including racial profiling, and systemic racism.

Finally, the Deputies heard a communication from Mr Rik Daems, President of the Parliamentary Assembly.

The other items examined by the Deputies appear in the Agenda and the decisions adopted are available in the meeting file.
