At their 1515th meeting on 11 December, the Ministers’ Deputies discussed current political affairs.
They held exchanges of views with:
- Mr Francesco Depasquale, President of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ), on current and future activities of the CEPEJ, as well as the trends and challenges that it is facing. The CEPEJ is a key player in the field of the rule of law. It contributes to the implementation of Council of Europe standards on the organisation of justice and supports judicial reforms at national level, not only in Europe but also beyond, through cooperation activities in neighbouring countries.
- Mr Luis Lopez Guerra, Chair of the Advisory Panel of Experts on Candidates for Election as Judge to the European Court of Human Rights, on the Panel's activities and results. The Panel’s mandate is to advise the High Contracting Parties to the European Convention on Human Rights whether candidates for election as judge to the European Court of Human Rights meet the criteria stipulated in Article 21 of the Convention, in order to guarantee the impartiality and quality of the Court.
The other items examined by the Deputies appear in the Agenda and the decisions adopted are available in the meeting file.
