HELP course on Family Law and Human Rights launched online in the Republic of Moldova

The Council of Europe HELP course on Family Law and Human Rights was officially launched online, today – 4 June 2020, by the Council of Europe Office in the Republic of Moldova in cooperation with the National Institute of Justice.

The aim of the online course is to enhance the knowledge and skills of legal professionals, focusing on judges and prosecutors, to effectively investigate and examine civil and criminal cases that involve children, and which occur in family environments.

The HELP course has been adapted to the Moldovan legal order and will be now piloted for a group of 48 judges, prosecutors, representatives of the Governmental Agent Department and Ombudsperson for Children’s Rights. The course will be carried out over a period of two months.

The implementation of the HELP course on Family Law and Human Rights in the Republic of Moldova is carried out with support of the Council of Europe project on combating violence against children in the Republic of Moldova, within the project immediate outcome 4: Improved skills and know-how of professionals to respond to violence against children and promote child-friendly practices.

The European Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) is the only pan-European Network of national training institutions for judges, prosecutors and lawyers in the 47 member states of the Council of Europe. It is an e-learning platform with free on-line courses on human rights and a human rights training methodology for legal professionals.
