Back The Council of Europe participates in the European preparatory meeting for the World Congress on Justice with Children

A European preparatory meeting for the World Congress on Justice with Children takes place on 29 June 2020. It aims to define priorities and trends in Europe which can be brought to the World Congress.

Representatives of the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the FRA, civil society and academia will participate in the meeting. Among other things, they will examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic upon children in contact with justice systems and exchange on next steps in implementing the Council of Europe Child-Friendly Justice Guidelines. The Council of Europe will also present its priorities for upholding the rights of children in conflict with the law.

The World Congress will be held in 2021 in Mexico City. Focusing on non-discriminatory and inclusive access to justice for all children, it is expected to be attended by experts and stakeholders across the globe.
