The Council of Europe has supported the Andorran Government in the promotion of their National Action Plan for Children and Adolescents (PNIA) by developing visibility materials: posters and leaflets to be used in schools for children, along with four videos to raise awareness and engagement. The materials were developed in close consultation with 68 children (55 from elementary school and 13 from high school), all from education centres that had participated in the drafting of the PNIA, to ensure their inputs are at the centre of the actions. The materials were developed following the guidelines of Lectura Fàcil.
The PNIA was the culmination of over two years of co-operation between the Council of Europe’s Children’s Rights Division and the Andorran Government. It sets to strengthen the rights of children in the areas of child participation and prevention and protection from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse, in line with the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse (Lanzarote Convention), which Andorra ratified in 2014. Over 400 children from 8 to 16 years old were consulted during the development of the PNIA between 2020 and 2022.
